The short version: play fair, be decent.

These terms apply to valuely.me and anything else we run that links to them (together, "Valuely"). By playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 13 to use Valuely. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

2. Your results and display name

You don't need an account to play. Your results are saved in your browser and, with an anonymous identifier, on our servers so we can show how you compare with other players. If you choose a display name, it will be shown publicly on leaderboards next to your scores. Don't pick a name that is offensive, impersonates someone else, or includes personal details. We may change or remove names that break this rule.

3. Fair play

The game is honour-based: no looking up answers. Beyond that, you agree not to:

cheat or manipulate scores, percentiles or leaderboards, including by submitting guesses through anything other than the game itself;
use bots, scrapers or automated requests against the site or its API;
try to access or interfere with other players' data, our systems or our security;
use Valuely for anything unlawful.

4. Questions you submit

If you send us a question through the submission form, you keep ownership of what you wrote. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to edit, publish and use it in Valuely and in material about Valuely, with or without credit. Only submit material you have the right to share, and only real figures with a source we can check.

5. Our content

The questions, explanations, design, code and name "Valuely" belong to us or our licensors. You may share your results and screenshots freely. You may not copy the question bank, republish the site, or sell anything derived from it without permission.

6. Accuracy

We check every figure against a published source before it runs, but sources differ, numbers get revised and we make mistakes. Valuely is a game, not financial, investment or professional advice. If you spot an error, tell us at hello@valuely.me and we'll fix it.

7. Availability and changes

We may change, pause or stop the game, or any feature of it, at any time. We'll try to give notice of big changes but can't promise to. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms.

8. No warranty, limited liability

Valuely is provided "as is" and "as available", free of charge. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, and our total liability to you for anything arising out of Valuely is limited to AUD $100. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can't be excluded.

9. Privacy

How we handle data is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and any dispute will be dealt with in the courts there.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date below. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms.
